LES DEUX CLÉS- CORBIERES

Gaëlle and Florian Richter are a young couple of winemakers. They craft great Languedoc wines in the Corbières appellation. We love the elegance of their wines, all from the noblest local grape varieties: macabeu, carignan and all types of grenache. Gaëlle, an oenologist, and Florian, son of a renowned German importer, met during an internship they were doing in Burgundy.

In 2015, they created the estate. Located in Fontjoncouse, it is one of the highest and freshest terroirs in the region. The vineyard covers 12 hectares and has a superb palette of century-old vines.

A high altitude terroir, with rugged slopes, between limestone clay and volcanic veins. All giving a dimension shared between pure expression of the fruit and clear minerality in the wines.

Soils are worked in a dynamic of regenerative viticulture. Vines are worked at a minimum to preserve aeration of the soil, allowing microbial life to mineralize organic substance. All the best practices are applied, and the investment is huge for a young estate: harvest is manual (in boxes) and yields of the first vintages are very low due to particularly severe sorting. In the cellar, winemakers use native yeasts, and the wines are aged in concrete vats, or in non-new French oak barrels (for some cuvées).

Their way of working is inspired by the Burgundian style but the wines have their own identity. They are concentrated, and at the same time all in finesse and freshness.

Wines combine varietal identities, sense of terroir and winegrower's touch. Florian and Gaelle craft the great wines of tomorrow.

Florian & Gaelle’s wines can be found in several Michelin starred restaurants like Auberge du Puits ❃ ❃ ❃ (Fontjoncouse), Palais Ledoyen ❃ ❃ ❃ (Paris), Le Park ❃ ❃ (Carcassonne), and many others in Germany, Italy, etc.
